Paris is 50% bread 🥐🥖

We're back home again, but I am in denial. Walking all day in sunlight, people watching and building-watching. I took so many reference-photos and am so excited to paint!

But a highlight, as a ~gluten-impaired person~, I was amazed at the amount of coeliac-friendly breads and patisseries Paris had for me. I did not get sick a single time and felt at ease for the whole trip. This is usually the biggest hurdle with traveling, even within Sweden.

Some recent experiments and wip's 🎨 February was a creative month and I experimented a lot more with mixing mediums🖌️ this time last year I was in an art block that didn't feel like it would ever end, I'm so excited to just make things now!

More wrinkles and closer-knit friends. Less patience for bs and more appreciation for the small things. I am grateful for my best friend and good people in my life! 🥂

My 2016 🌀 I've seen a lot of people do these. So here's mine. Rewind a decade!

It was a year of change. I had started drawing and painting again and did some freelancing (not pictured) for film and indie games. I was usually not paid. I worked three jobs simultaneously at one point to pay rent.

I got a dream job working in the arts, and started getting confident that maybe I was good. My illustrations would eventually feature in local projects and marketing campaigns (not pictured). But I also felt like I needed to be perfect. I was insecure and struggled to find an artistic identity. This job eventually led to a burnout that I'm still recovering from. I suppose I'll never get back to 100% recovered. But I'm better at managing my time now. You win some.

Crucially, in 2016 I found people who got me and I started to come out of my shell. I met my best friend, who I've now lived with for something like 8 years.

There are very few photos of me in my twenties and there's no cute way to phrase this other than I hated myself. This year was a turning point, but there would be several years before I felt like I was ok being seen.

The year I broke out of art block, decided to use all the happy colours, things I feared were "uncool" and went fully analogue. Most of these are from May when I started getting excited to create again.
